GHS Parent-Teacher Conferences Today

Globe High School is having Parent-Teacher Confereneces today (Wednesday).

The conferences are taking place from 4 to 7:30pm.

Globe High School Hall of Fame Dinner September 23

The Globe High School Hall of Fame dinner will be held on Monday, September 23 at 6:pm in the Globe High School Gymnasium.

This year’s inductees are Armida Bittner, Jeannett C. Bowling, Hazel Frederick, Marie Hachtel, Larry Kentera, Ricardo Lucero, Keith Mette, Gilbert Navarro, Dominic Renon, Raymond Rodriguez, Carmen Slough, Hugh Summers, Ken Trout, Bob White, James Harbison, the 1921 state basketball championship team, and the 1938 state championship football team.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts. Or call 928-812-3974.

Globe and Miami High School Registration Begins Today

Globe and Miami High School registration begins today (Monday).

Miami High School seniors register today from 8:am to 3:pm in the Library. Juniors register tomorrow and sophomores on Wednesday.

Globe High School seniors with names beginning with A to M register today from Noon until 3:pm. Seniors with names from N to Z register from 4 to 7:pm. Juniors register tomorrow and  sophomores register on Wednesday.

GHS Registration Begins Monday

Globe High School registration begins Monday.

New students and their parents are encouraged to pick up registration information at the main office on Monday through Thursday between 8:am and Noon and from 1 to 4:pm.

Registration times for students will be divided between those with names beginning with A through M, and those with names beginning with N through Z

Seniors begin registering on Monday, July 22.; juniors will register on Tuesday, July 23; sophomores on Wednesday, July 24; and freshmen on Monday, July 29.

Late registration is on Tuesday, July 30.

Globe High School Talent Show

Globe High School will host a talent show on Thursday at 6:pm in the Globe High School Auditorium.

The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

GHS Graduate Now Pitching in Baltimore Organization

Globe High School 2009 graduate Brady Wager  is in his second minor league season with the Baltimore Orioles organization.

Tonight (Tuesday) he makes his debut as starting pitcher for the Single A Delmarva Shorebirds. You can listen to the game on the Internet at the Shorebirds official site. Listen here.

Globe High School Reunion Picnic

The Globe High School Reunion Picnic will be held on Saturday, March 23 in Scottsdale.

It’s from 11:am until 3:pm at Indian School Park on the northeast corner of Hayden and Indian School Road.

The cost is $10 a person, including lunch.

'Ceremony in the Catacombs' at GHS on November 1

The Globe High School Performing Arts Class and Club will perform “Ceremony in the Catacombs” on Thursday, November 1. 

Performances are at 1 and 7:pm in the Globe High School Auditorium.

Tickets may be purchased at the door for $5. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

GHS Hall of Fame Weatherspoon Brothers to Visit Globe

Globe High School Hall of Fame brothers Cephus and Ed Weatherspoon will be in town  Friday night to attend the Globe/Alchesay game at Harbison Field.

They will speak at the Globe High School gymnasium on Monday morning at 8:am.

After that, Cephus and Ed will be at the Globe Active Adult Center at 11:am. The whole community is invited to meet the Weatherspoon brothers and then stay for lunch  Lunch is $5 and you can make a lunch reservation by calling 425-9030.

GHS Class of 72 Reunion October 6

The Globe High School  Class of 1972 will have a 40 year reunion on Saturday, October 6 at the Dream Manor Inn. 

The event starts at 6:pm. The cost for the dinner and music is $45.

Events at GHS This Weekend

Globe High School will be a busy place ths weekend. The free events include the Historical Society’s antique show, a car show, and the Alumni Association’s open house.

The Centennial Band will perform a concert on Saturday at 3:pm in the Globe High School auditorium.

GHS Open House Includes Local Agencies

Globe High School and 25 local agencies are holding an open house introducing services that will be available to all students. Some of the agencies attending are the Doemstic Violence Safe Home, the Gila County Injury Prevention and Women’s Health programs; Arizona Youth Partnership, the Gila County Meth Coalition and many more.

The event starts at 6:pm in the Globe High School gym.

GHS Alumni Meeting January 12

The Globe High School Alumni committee will have a meeting on Thursday, January 12 at 5 pm. They will discuss organizing an Alumni picnic. The meeting will take place at Guayo’s on the Trail.

GHS Sing-It-Again Chorus Performance

The Globe High School Sing-It-Again Chorus will present a program called “Time in a Bottle” Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Globe High School Auditorium.

It’s a light hearted musical retrospective on life at Globe High School during the 1950’s. Performances include the reconstituted Tigerettes, the Globe High School Band, Debbie and the Double Eagle, and the Globe High School Spirit Line.

The presentation will be followed by a tour of Globe High School, including the new Rose Mofford Room, which contains memorabilia of historic achievemnets by Globe High School students and faculty members.

GHS Tailgate Party

The Globe High School Tailgate Party starts Friday at 4:pm at Harbison Field.

Globe Wrestling Benefit Dance

The 2nd Annual Globe Wrestling benefit dance will be on Saturday, October 22 from 7 until 11:pm at the Pinal Mountain Elks Lodge. To purchase tickets or for more information call 425-5164.

The Globe High School Hall of Fame Inaugural Induction Dinner will be held Monday, October 3 at Globe High School.

GHS Tailgate Party

Globe Site Council and Booster Club are having another Tailgate Party on Friday from 3:30 until 5:30. They’ll have frybread, hot dogs and drinks.

Proceeds go to support Globe High School Athletic Programs.
