Senior Center Site Council Meets Wednesday
The Globe Senior Center Site Council meets tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12:45pm. They will discuss the recommendation for the new Senior Center name and will review the 1st Annual Golf Tournament.

Free Beginning Computer Classes
Globe Senior Center and the Globe Public Library are offering free Beginning Computer Classes starting Friday at 9:30am. This two session class is an introduction to the computer, Internet and the basic skills required to conduct searches and create an email account.

'Name the Senior Center' Contest
Globe Senior Center is having a contest to choose a new name. Numerous studies indicate that “younger” seniors and others won’t go to a place called “Senior” Center. So, they’re having a “Name the Senior Center” contest.
First prize is $25. The deadline is Tuesday, May 31. Send in or drop off your ideas to the Globe Senior Center.

Globe Senior Center Golf Tournament
The Globe Senior Center’s 1st Annual Golf Tournament will take place next Saturday, May 21. Teams of three will compete for a $400 first prize and $200 second prize. Other contests include a $500 Hole in One, $50 Straightest Drive, and Double Your Money—Within the Circle.
The entry fee is $40 a golfer. For information call Ron Chesley at 928-961-0519.

Globe Senior Center Activities This Week
May is Older Americans Month. The Globe Senior Center has a lot of activities planned for May.
Tom Anderson from Consumer Credit Services will talk about “Understanding Money and Credit” tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10:30. If you attend the workshop, lunch is free. But you must sign up in advance by calling 425-9030.
On Thursday the Center is hosting a Holocaust survivor from Hungary. George Kalman will have a talk and discussion at 10:30. The National Days of Remembrance video will be shown just before that at 9:30. The entire community is invited. If you’d like to stay for lunch, make a reservation by calling 425-9030. The cost is $2.50 for those over 60, $5 if you’re under 60.

Volunteers Needed for Meals on Wheels
Globe Senior Center is looking for volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program. The local program delivered more than 360 meals to the homebound in February. That’s more than 4400 meals a year. Along with the meals our seniors receive a wellness check.
The Globe Senior Center is particiupating in the National “March for Meals” campaign. This week Globe Mayor Fernando Shipley will ride along with volunteers in support of Mayors for Meals.

Pinal-Gila Craft and Wellness Fair This Weekend
This Saturday is the 36th annual Pinal-Gila Craft and Wellness Fair at Central Arizona College. The day includes arts and crafts, health information and screenings, food booths and raffle prizes.
