Walk and Wag Against Abuse

On Saturday  the Horizon Domestic Violence Safe Home, the High Desert Humane Society and the Gila County Health Department will host the Annual Walk and Wag Against Abuse in downtown Globe.

The purpose of the event is to help connect the link between domestic violence and animal abuse. It includes activities, demonstrations and refreshments.

Feel free to dress your pup in a crazy costume and bring your wagon to pull your pet on the walk through town .

Registration begins Saturday at 11:am at the train depot in Globe. The  walk begins at Noon and will end by 2:pm.

The fee for the Walk and Wag is $10 and includes a pet bandana.

HDHS Calendar Event on Saturday

The High Desert Humane Society’s Annual Calendar Event will take place this Saturday (August 17). 

Tickets are $15, including a roast beef dinner. No-host cocktails begin at 6:pm and dinner starts at 7:00.

Tickets may be purchased at the High Desert Humane Society Boutique, the Cat Adoption Center, Fashion Gap Salon and Past Times Antiques.

Humane Society Calendar Fundraiser

The High Desert Humane Society Calendar Fundraiser will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at the Globe Elks Club.

A no host cocktail hour starts at 5:pm with a barbecue rib dinner at 6:30.

They will  be auctioning off calendar pages for the upcoming year to showcase your favorite pet or pets. There will also be a Chinese auction, drawings and door prizes.

Humane Society Charity Pool Tourney

The High Desert Humane Society is having a Charity Pool Tourney on Sunday at the Huddle Sports Bar.

Sign up is at 1:pm. Entry fee is $10. Prizes will be awarded to 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place winners.

There will also be a buffet style taco bar, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing.

High Desert Humane Society Open House

The High Desert Humane Society is having an Open House on Friday from 4 to 6:pm.

The Society has just opened their new headquarters and Cat Adoption Center.

The Open House includes food, drinks, door prizes, a raffle and lots of cats and kittens.
