Six Shooter Canyon Road Chip Sealing May 20-21

The Gila County Roads Department will be chip-sealing Six Shooter Canyon Road on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20 and 21, from 6:am to 5:pm.

There may be delays up to 10 minutes, due to large equipment and heavy truck traffic.

ADOT Road Work Begins Today

The Arizona Department of Transportation has scheduled maintenance work on several highways in the Globe area starting today (May 2).

Work crews will apply a coating of rejuvenating oil to the roadway surface to preserve and protect the pavement.

On Wednesday and Thursday, May 2 and 3, crews will work on five miles of State Route 177 between Kearney and Superior.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 8 and 9, they’ll be working on four miles of US 60 west of Miami from the Mountain Breeze Cemetery to the Miami city limits.

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 15 and 16, they’ll be working on four miles of State Route 188 just north of the US 60 junction.

Work hours will be 5:am until 3:30pm.

Drivers should expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

Construction to Begin at Canyon Intersection

Construction will begin on Monday (August 22) at the intersection of Six Shooter Canyon and Ice House Canyon. There may be slight traffic delays.

Lane Restrictions Continue on US 60

Intermittent lane closures on US 60 will continue through next week. Crews will be doing electrical work on traffic signals at Kings Ranch Road, Mountainbrook Drive and Superstition Mountain Drive. Work will be from 5:30am until 3:30pm next week, Monday through Thursday.

Paving on US 60 is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 15.

Fog Sealing Postponed Again

The Gila County Roads Department has postponed fog sealing in Country Club Manor again until 7:am tomorrow (Wednesday) because of the rain.

Fog Sealing Rescheduled for Tuesday in Country Club Manor

The Gila County Roads Division has postponed the fog sealing in Country Club Manor scheduled for today (Monday) until tomorrow (Tuesday) because of the rain. Fog sealing will begin Tuesday at 7:am.

The roadways scheduled for fog sealing are: Arbor, Cherry Avenue, Country Club Lane, Cypress, West Elm, First Avenue East, First Avenue West, Fourth Avenue, Palm Lane, Paxton, Paxton West, Rose Lane 1st, 2nd and 3rd, Spruce Street, Second Avenue and Third Avenue.

Please remove all vehicles from the work area before Monday If you have any questions, contact the Gila County Roads Department at 402-8532.

US 60 Lane Closed Near Gold Canyon

The Arizona Department of Transportation has closed one lane of US 60 near Gold Canyon. The eastbound lane of US 60 will be closed for bridge work between mileposts 205 and 207 until Monday, July 18 at 3:30pm. It’s part of a 12 mile reconstruction project from Siphon Draw to State Route 79 near Gold Canyon.

Crews will work from 5:30am until 3:30pm Monday through Friday. The lane closure will remain in place after work hours and during weekends. Westbound lanes on US 60 will not be restricted.

Lane Closures on US 70 Near Globe

Lane closures will contuinue through Thursday on US 70 near Globe.

ADOT is applying a coat of rejuvenating oil to the roadway surface on US 70 from mileposts 271 to 287. Lane closures will be in effect from 7:am until 5:pm. Drivers can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

Chip Sealing in Country Club Manor This Week

The Gila County Roads Division is chip sealing in Country Club Manor this week, Tuesday through Thursday. The road work will be from 7:am to 4:30pm.

The streets affected are Arbor, Cherry Avenue,Country Club Lane, Cyprus, West Elm, First Avenue East, First Avenue West, Fourth Avenue, Palm Lane, Paxton, Paxton West, Rose Lane 1st, 2nd and 3rd, Spruce Street, Second Avenue and Third Avenue.

The County asks that you remove all vehicles from the work area.

Ice House Canyon Bridge Narrows to One Lane Next Week

Beginning Monday (March 14) and continuing through Wednesday, the Ice House Canyon Bridge will be narrowed to one lane of traffic and the Bear Tree Crossing will be closed. This will be between 6:am and 6:pm, Monday through Wednesday. A flagger will be present during these times.

Public Meetings About Improvements to Cutter Road

The San Carlos Apache Tribe invites the public to attend one of two public meetings about safety improvements to Indian Route 6 and the corresponding Environmental Assessment. The first meeting is tomorrow (Tuesday) at Exhibit Hall in Bylas. The second is on Wednesday at the Council Chambers in San Carlos. Both meetings are from 6 until 8:pm and will include the same information.

The Tribe is conducting a Corridor Analysis report and engineering design plans to improve the safety and accessibility of Indian Route 6, also known as Cutter Road.

This is the second round of public meetings to help inform the public about the project and to receive input.
