Author Santos Vega will be at the Miami Fiesta from 10:am until 4:pm Saturday for a book signing. Dr. Vega is the author of the new book Around Miami which presents a pictorial history of the Miami area.
Vega is a Miami native and graduate of Miami High School. He is professor emeritus of the Hispanic Research Center at Arizona State University.

Author at Globe Library on Friday
Globe Public Library is hosting a meet-and-greet Friday at 2:30pm for author Christopher Kline. Kline is author of the recently published book Hostile Lookout.
The “lookout” is a fire lookout tower in Arizona and readers will recognize many Arizona place names.
Kline will have copies of his book for sale and he will personalize them.

'Around Miami' Book Now Available
The new book “Around Miami”—a pictorial history of Miami—is out and available at the Book Bank. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the author at a book signing during the Miami Fiesta on Saturday, September 17.

Book Signing and Cooking Demonstration
The Book Bank in Miami will have a book signing and desert foods cooking demonstration on Sunday (July 24) with authors Don Wells and Jean Groen. It’s at 3:pm.
The two authors have been writing books about local desert plants since 1997. Their latest book is “Cat’s Claw to Cow’s Tongue and Other Lesser Known Plants of the Sonoran Desert.”

ONEBOOKAZ in April
As we get ready to celebrate the state Centennial in 2012, Secretary of State Ken Bennett and the Arizona State Library are kicking off the annual ONEBOOKAZ event.This year’s focus is on Arizona history.
ONEBOOKAZ was created to bring communities together through literature. Beginning in April of every year, the program encourages communities across the state to read the same book at the same time and to participate in discussions and programs centered around the book.
This year’s books are Hopi Summer: Letters from Ethel to Maud by Carolyn O’Bagy Davis and Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Joseph Bruchac.
Both of these books are available at all Gila County libraries.
