Supervisors Meet Today

The Gila County Board of Supervisors meets today (Tuesday) at 10:am.

There will be a presentation of the Gila County Spelling Bee winner Kendra Martinez of High Desert Middle School.

Miami Town Manager Jerry Barnes will present a Certificate of Appreciation for the Supervisors’ support for Cobre Valley Community Transit.

The agenda includes approval of the distribution of Gila County’s Secure Rural Schools and Communities Funds. $50,000 will go to roads and $1.4 million to Gila County School Districts.

The Supervisors will also review and provide comments about the ½ Cent Transportation Excise Tax.

Gila County District 2 Supervisor Michael Pastor will have a Community Meeting today (Monday) at the Tri City Fire Department. It starts at 5:pm.

The meeting is for residents of Central Heights, Claypool, Miami and the surrounding areas.

The Supervisors will consider and possibly approve the final distribution of Gila County’s Secure Rural Schools and Communiies funds. Gila County School Districts will receive $144,000 and $5,000 will go to roads.

The Supervisors will consider accepting Russell Road as a public road to be maintained by the County.
