The annual Light Parade in historic downtown Globe begins Saturday at 6:pm.

Santa Claus to Visit Globe on Saturday

Santa Claus will visit downtown Globe tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:am at the historic railroad depot.

Santa’s elves will also be there, courtesy of the Gila County Cinderella Pageant. There will also be a special mailbox for letters to Santa.

Santa will leave at 1:pm on the Globe Fire Department’s historic 1952 fire engine.

Santa’s visit is sponsored by the Historic Globe Main Street Program.

Historic Main Street Town Hall Meeting

The Historic Globe Main Street Program is hosting a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday (July 9) at Globe City Hall. It’s from 6 to 8:pm.

Topics include the “A-frame” sign ordinance enforcement.

Globe Summer Fest This Saturday


The Cobre Valley Center for the Arts and the Historic Globe Main Street Program present the Globe Summer Fest this Saturday  (June 23). This carnival-style evening in downtown Globe is from 5 to 8:pm.

The event includes  music, carnival games, cupcake walks, burgers, root bear floats and iced treats; even a water balloon drop. There will also be live performances by the Summer Youth Musical Theater.

Other activities include the Watermelon Carving Challenge, the Farmer’s Market Taste-Off Challenge and the Sidewalk Chalk Challenge.

Proceeds from this event go to the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts  and the Globe Main Street Program.

Tour the Historic Jail This Saturday

The historic 1910 Sheriff’s Office and Jail is open the second Saturday of each month from 9:am until 1:pm for tours and an experience of the Old West.

You are also invited to combine a visit to the jail with the weekly Farmers’ Markets in downtown Globe.
