Globe City Council Meets Today at 5:PM

Globe City Council meets today (Tuesday) at 5:pm.

The council will consider authorizing an agreement with Cobre Valley Community Transit for an additional route to provide transportation for Globe citizens to the Miami pool.

They will also consider joining the City of Sedona as co-sponsor to support the restoration of the State Parks Heritage Fund.

The agenda includes an agreement with the Arizona Commerce Authority for a Rural Economic Grant.

Globe City Council Meets Tonight

Globe City Council meets  tonight  (Monday) at 6:pm.

The agenda includes the $22 million Tentative Budget for the next fiscal year.

The Council will also consider an agreement with the Arizona Commerce Authority for a Rural Economic Development Grant; a Memorandum of Understanding to financially support an analysis of Regional Dispatch Services in the community; and an amendment to the Globe City Code concerning Boards, Committees and Commissions.

Globe Council Meets Tonight at 6:00

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday) at 6:00.

The Council will discuss the City-wide Sign and Pavement Striping Inventory; the Broadtreet Pavement Rehabilitation Project; and the Oak Street/Hill Street Pavement Rehabilitation and Hill Street Sidewalk Installaton Project.

The agenda includes a Resolution submitting to the voters the question of whether a franchise is granted to Arizona Public Service Company.

The Council will proclaim May 26 as National Poppy Day.

There will be a presentation of the White Mountain Masonic Officer of the Year to Globe Police Officer Kalen Trimble; a badge presentation to Arson K-9 Evo; and the annual reports from the Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation and the Globe-Miami Chamber of commerce.

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday)  at 6:00 with a Special Meeting to elect a president of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Property Corporation.

The Regular Meeting follows with a Public Hearing on a proposal to adjust water and wastewater rates and fees.

The agenda also includes a Resolution supporting the All Mail Election.

Globe City Council Meets Monday at 6:PM

The Globe City Council meets Monday at 6:pm.

The Council will consider an ordinance amending the City Code, setting dates and times for Regular Meetings.

The agenda also includes discussion and consideration of a Railroad Depot Rehabilitation Grant amendment; the intention to change water and wastewater fees, and the 2014-2015 Fiscal Year Capital Improvement Plan.

There will also be presentations about the Community Center Pool, the Meter Replacement Program and Meter Reading System; and the new Type 3 fire engine.

The agenda includes the Tenth Amended Interim Emergency Fire Intergovernmental Agreement with the Town of Miami.

The Council will also consider  resolutions pertaining to the Wayfinding and Signage Project Proposal for the Freeport McMoRan Community Investment Fund.

Globe Council Meets Tonight at 6:00

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday)  at 6:00.

The Council will consider a Resolution urging the Governor and State Legislature to restore HURF distribution to cities, towns, counties and state highways; applications for an Early Literacy Reading Grant and a Library Services Technology Grant; a grant application to the Arizona Department of Homeland Security to purchase equipment for the Globe Police Department; and the purchase of a meter reading system.

Action items include: adopting the Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices; adopting the City of Phoenix Traffic Barricade Manual with City of Globe Amendments; and an application to the Arizona Commerce Authority for a grant that could fund the sewer line extension into the northeast areas of Globe.

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday) at 6:00.

The agenda includes a discussion to authorize City staff to post a Notice of Intention to increase water and wastewater rates and fees; a Resolution adopting the Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices with revisions and a supplement for the City of Globe; a resolution adopting the City of Phoenix Traffic Barricade Manual with amendments for the City of Globe; a resolution relating to projects for consideration in the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Plan; discussion and consideration of sub-grantee agreements for the Arizona Department of Homeland Security Grant Award; and discussion and consideration for the Arizona Rural Economic Development Grant.

Globe City Manager Brent Billingsley will introduce new Museum Supervisor Leanna Asberry.

An Executive Session will follow the Regular Meeting.

Globe City Council meets today (Monday) at 6:PM.

The Council will consider selecting an Engineering Consultant to complete a Preliminary Engineering Study for Globe Water Distribution System improvements.

There is a Resolution authorizing a transfer of Contingency Funds to the City Budget.

Councilmembers will consider a Floodplain Ordinance and revisions to the City Code.

Globe Council Meets Tonight

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday) at 6:00.

The Council will appoint new members to the Library Board.

They will also consider a Floodplain Ordinance with revisions to the Globe City Code.

The agenda includes a project finance application to the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona for financial assistance from Arizona’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

District 6 Councilmember Larry Alderman will take the Oath of Office.

There will be presentations about the Fish and Wildlife Services wolf proposals and from the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Council will also discuss the Library Parking Modifications.

Globe Council Meets Tonight

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday) at 6:00.

Globe’s new Police Chief Timothy Truett will be introduced and there will be an update of the Jane Eck Fundraiser Dinner held on November 11.

New Business includes  presentations of the Gila County Transportation Study  and the General Plan Update.

The Council will also consider a FEMA Firefighter Assistance Grant application.

Globe Council Meetings on Monday

Globe City Council will have a Special Meeting on Monday at 5:30pm followed by the Regular Meeting at 6:00.

During the 5:30 Special Meeting, the Council will canvass the results  of the November 5 election and declare them official.

There will also be Recognition of the outgoing Council members with parting remarks.

New Council members Roberta Johnson, Mike Stapleton and Larry Alderrman will take the Oath of Office.

The new Council will be seated by the Mayor  and they will appoint a Vice Mayor.


The Regular Meeting at 6:00 includes the introduction of new Finance Director Joseph Jarvis, new Police and Fire Dispatchers Anita Stapleton and William Decker, and new Police Officer Justin Maunder.

Action Items include consideration of the appointment of new Police Chief Timothy Truett and new City Clerk Shelly Salazar.

The Council will also consider a Budget Amendment for support of the Broad Street Phase II Project, Library Parking Modifications, and an application for financial assistance  from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona.

New Business includes a discussion and consideration of the Scope of Work for additional services for the Globe Active Adult Center with the Pinal/Gila Council for Senior Citizens.

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday) at 6:00.

The Council will proclaim November 8 and 9 to be VFW Buddy Poppy Day.

There will also be a special presentation recognizing the retirement of Finance Director Teresa Williams.

The Council will go into Executive Session to discuss the Finance Director position.

Globe Council Meets Monday

Globe City Council meets Monday at 6:pm.

The agenda includes discussion and consideration of Library Parking Modifications and a discussion of a Highway Safety Improvement Federal Grant for South Broad Street.

The Council may act on  amendments to the Globe City Code concerning “Prohibited Signs,” the “Location of Mobile Homes,” and “Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Turkeys, Rabbits and Pigeons.”

Other action items include the Globe Fire Department Cadet Program, the emergency purchase of 12 lead heart monitors, and a proposal for a Type III Wildland Fire Truck.

Globe Council Meets Tonight at 6:00

Globe City Council meets tonight (Monday) at 6:00.

They will adopt the results of the August 27 Municipal Election and consider a recount for District 4.

The agenda also includes an Operations Agreement between the Globe Active Adult Center and Gila Aging Services.

The Council will be introduced to Library Clerk Adria Ricke. The Empty into Awesome Award will be presented to Famous Star, Jr. And there will be a presentation about Utah Congressman Ken Ivery’s visit to Globe on  Wednesday (September 11) to conduct an educational presentation about the “Transfer of Public Lands Legislation.”

A lengthy Executive Session will include legal advice about pending contracts and possible litigation.
 
The Council will  receive legal advice about the requirement for public bodies to post minutes or recordings of all meetings on the City’s website, along with a statement of legal actions taken. They will also receive legal advice about compliance with the Arizona Open Meeting Law and Public Records Act.
