Landowners Affected By Drought Can Apply for Federal Assistance

Governor Jan Brewer has announced that the US Department of Agriculture has granted her request for a Secretarial disaster designation. This designation will allow landowners in Gila, Pinal, Coconino, Maricopa, Pima and Yavapai counties affected by ongoing drought to apply for federal financial assistance.

Eligible farmers have eight months to apply for low interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency and Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments program.

Information Session for Post Secondary Financial Aid

A Family Financial Aid Information Night will be held next Tuesday, February 15 in the Miami High School Library. It’s for high school students and their families who are interested in post secondary opportunities. The meeting is from 5 until 6:pm. You’ll learn how to apply for Federal Student Aid, loan and grant opportunities and scholarships.
