Congressman Gosar in Globe Tonight

Congressman Paul Gosar will be in Globe tonight (Wednesday) with an open discussion at Globe City Hall. It starts at 7:pm.

Rep. Gosar in Globe-Miami Thursday

First District Representative Paul Gosar will be at the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce tomorrow (Thursday) from 3 until 4:30pm. The Congressman will have a few remarks and then will take questions.

This is an opportunity to visit with Rep. Gosar and discuss issues and concerns within the district and nationally. The event is open to the public.

Gosar Introduces Land Exchange Bill

The Arizona Geology blog reports that 1st District Congressman Paul Gosar has introduced legislation in the US House to effect the land exchange needed by Resolution Copper to develop its underground mine near Superior. Gosar’s two predecessors—Ann Kirkpatrick and Rick Renzi—also pushed for similar legislation.

Renzi was indicted for his involvement in related land deals and the bill was tainted by association.

The Hill newspaper says that one of the main differneces between Gosar’s bill and Kirkpatrick’s bill is that Gosar’s bill requires an environmental impact study after the land is given to Resolution Copper rather than before.

Gosar Announces 5 Town Hall Meetings

First Congressional District Representative Paul Gosar is holding the first of five town hall meetings in Prescott next week. He says he will discuss federal spending, health care reform and local issues.

Gosar spokeswoman Stefani Zimmerman says Gosar will speak for 15 minutes at each town hall meeting before taking questions from the public.

Monday’s meeting will be at the Prescott City Hall building.

Other meetings are scheduled in Flagstaff, Window Rock, Superior and Casa Grande.

So far no meetings have been announced for Globe-Miami.
