Holiday Classic to be Shown Thursday at Hollis Cinema

The Cobre Valley Film Club announces the screening of the classic holiday film “The Bishop’s Wife.” It will be shown Thursday at 6:30pm at Hollis Cinema 4.

The donation is $5 a person, with proceeds benefitting the continued restoration of the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts.

Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts and may be purchased at the Hollis Cinema box office starting an hour before the screening.

Holiday Classic Film Showings Benefit CVCA

The Cobre Valley Center for the Arts Classic Film Club and Hollis Cinema are hosting two special holiday screenings. The 1947 classic “Miracle on 34th Street” will be shown tonight (Thursday) at 6:30.

“White Christmas” with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney will be shown next Thursday (December 15), also at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts with a limited number available at the theater prior to showtime.

All ticket proceeds will benefit the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts Elevator Fund.

Blue Planet Film Fest Arizona

The First Annual Blue Planet Film Fest Arizona will be held next week in the Mill Avenue District in Tempe. The film lineup includes more than a dozen world and US premieres of environmental and animal welfare films.

The event includes fest-themed vendor booths and vegan gourmet snacks. And the admission price includes lunch and dinner gourmet vegan buffets, and post-screening audience interactive events.

Blue Planet Film Fest runs Thursday, May 12 through Sunday, May 15.

Movie Auditions

Auditions for the film “Catfish Dinner” will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts. Actresses are needed from ages 60 to 8 years old, as well as male and female extras. The auditions will be from 10:am until 4:30pm.
