A contract dispute between Cable One and Turner Network
Channels has resulted in the removal of all of the Turner channels from the
local cable line-up.
Cable One announced on Tuesday that it had dropped CNN,
Turner Classic Movies and Boomerang after the expiration of their contract.
Following that announcement, Turner Network deauthorized
signals to TNT, TBS and the Cartoon Network, even though Cable One says they have a valid
contract to continue carrying those channels.
Cable One says Turner Network is demanding more money for
channels with declining ratings and that they have been unable to reach a fair deal.
Turner says it is simply asking Cable One to pay the established and accepted
rates already in the marketplace.
Cable One says it hopes Turner Networks will continue to
negotiate and that they will be able to reach an agreement. In the meantime,
Cable One customers will be credited for the loss in their next billing.
