Cub Scout Pinewood Derby This Weekend

The 50^th Anniversary running of the Gila District Cub Scout Pinewood Derby will be held this Saturday (March 22) at the Miami High School Gym.

Adult Pinewood Derby alumni are invited to bring their old cars and race.

Registration begins at 8:am and racing starts at 9:30. There is a $4 fee for each car.

Car kits may be purchased by calling 520-404-6656. The kit contains all the parts necessary to build a winning race car.

Rain Gutter Regatta

Cub Scout Pack 777 is having a Rain Gutter Regatta on Saturday, July 14 at the Globe Moose Lodge.The regatta is a race of small wooden boats propelled by blowing on them in a rain gutter filled with water.

The entry fee is $1. Registration is at 9:am and the races start at 9:30. There will be 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place winners for each division. They will also have an open class for anyone who would like to enter. There will be awards for unique and cutest designs.

Everyone is invited to come out and watch the races, enjoy food and games,  and learn about the cub scouts.
