Besh-Ba-Gowah Festival of Lights This Sunday

The annual Festival of Lights at Besh-Ba-Gowah takes place this Sunday (December 22).

Luminarias will be placed on the pueblo walls. Refreshments will be served and there will be dancers and music, along with jewelry and other items for sale.

Gather around the bonfire and share a special evening with friends and family.

The event starts at dusk, around 5:30pm.

Globe-Miami and Besh-Ba-Gowah Tours on Friday

The 14th Annual Arizona Highlands Garden Conference will include a Globe-Miami tour on Friday (October 11) beginning at 11:am. It starts at the Bullion Plaza Museum in Miami and is led by historian Lynn Haak. 

A tour of the Besh-Ba-Gowah Archeological Ruins begins at 4:30pm.

The price of each of the tours is $7.50. Register at extension.arizona.edu.

Annual Festival of Lights at Besh Ba Gowah


The 25th annual Festival of Lights will take place this Sunday at Besh Ba Gowah. Sixteen hundred luminarias will be placed along the ruin walls.

There will be cultural performers from the San Carlos Apache Reservation. The evening also includes entertainment by the local singing group “The 40 Somethings,” and the Diamonds will play traditional and Spanish Christmas music in the auditorium.

Santa Claus will be there taking pictures with children for a small donation.

Visitors can warm up around the bonfire at the center of the historic pueblo ruins. Hot cider, coffee, tea and cookies will be served.

The luminarias will be lit at 5:pm. The entertainment begins and 5:30 and the park will close at 9:00.

Admission is free.

Besh Ba Gowah Luminaria Event is December 23


The annual night of luminarias at Besh-Ba-Gowah is Sunday, December 23. Admission is free.

There will also be hot cider, coffee, cookies, live music and photos with  Santa.

The event is from 5 to 11:pm.

Besh Ba Gowah Festival of Lights

The Besh Ba Gowah 24th Annual Festival of Lights will take place this Sunday evening.

Sixteen hundred glowing luminarias will light the walls and walkways starting at dusk.
The evening includes cultural performers from the San Carlos Apache Reservation with flutist Robert Wilson. Local singing groups “The 40 Somethings” and the Diamonds will perform traditional and Spanish Christmas music in the auditorium.

Visitors can warm up around the bonfire at the center of the historic ruins. Hot cider, coffee, tea and cookies will be served.

Entertainmet begins about 5:30 and the Park will close at 9:00.

Besh Ba Gowah Celebrates Archaeology Awareness Month

Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park is celebrating Arizona Archaeology Awareness Month with an Open House on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20. Park admission will be free on Saturday but will return to regular admission fees on Sunday.

Events that weekend include guided tours at 10:30am and 2:pm., Native American entertainment at Noon, and hands-on activity for kids and adults.

Besh Ba Gowah Festival of Lights on Sunday

Sixteen hundred luminarias will be featured in the 23rd Annual Festival of Lights at Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park. It starts around 5:30pm this Sunday (December 19).

The Globe High School JROTC Color Guard will open the ceremony. There will be entertainment in the auditorium and a bonfire at the center of the historic pueblo ruins. There will also be hot cider, coffee, tea and cookies.

The festivities will come to a close at 9:pm.
