Southeastern Arizona Behavioral Health Services will have an Open House on Friday, May 18 from 10:am until Noon.
Refreshments will be served and staff will be there to answer any questions you may have.
Southeastern Arizona Behavioral Health Services provides counseling, family support, independent living skills training, parenting classes and psychiatric services.

GCC Open House April 25
Gila Community College invites everyone to an Open House on Wednesday, April 25 from 3 to 5:pm. The Open House will provide tours and information for anyone interested in attending the college this fall. A financial aid workshop will be provided.

U of A Dedicates Native American Women's Arch
Last Friday the Native American Women’s Arch was dedicated at the Women’s Plaza of Honor at the University of Arizona. All 22 Arizona tribes were recognized.
The arch honors leaders, artists, healers, scholars, mothers, daughters and sisters who have brought honor to their communities.
At the ceremony the San Carlos Apache Tribe recognized Jeanette Clark Cassa, Janie Ferreira, Evalena Henry and Alberta Rope.

Supervisors Meet Today at 10:am
The Gila County Board of Supervisors meets this morning (Tuesday) at 10:00.
The Supervisors will proclaim the week of April 22-28 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week in Gila County. They will also proclaim that week as the Week of the Young Child in Gila County.
The Supervisors will meet as the Gila County Library District Board of Directors to consider a license agreement with Recorded Books, LLC for digital audio books for the County's library users. They will also consider a renewal application for an $85,000 First Things First Literacy Grant.

Letha Yandell of Globe passed away April 12. She was 93. She is survived by her daughter Jeanette Ortega of Globe; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Home Rule Forum in Miami
The Town of Miami is having a public forum Tuesday about the Home Rule issue that will be on the May 15 General Election ballot.

Jeannie Uhl Memorial Golf Tournament Rescheduled
The Jeannie Uhl Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament that was to be held on Saturday has been postponed because of bad weather.
The golf tournament has been rescheduled for September 8. All golf hole sponsorships will be honored.

Globe PD Warns of Telephone Scam
The Globe Police Department is warning the public about a telephone scam.
If you receive a telephone call telling you that one of your family members or friends has been arrested in Mexico or any other foreign country, this is most likely a scam. The caller tells you that the family member needs a certain amount of money to be bonded out of jail. This is usually in the thousands of dollars.
Don’t give out any banking information, including debit or credit card numbers. Do not obtain money orders, cashier checks or Western Union money transfers without first contacting your local Police Department.

Early this morning Globe Police arrested 28 year old Tessa Figueroa for domestic violence/criminal damage and disorderly conduct after a disturbance at a residence on North Main Street.
34 year old Jaclyn Gilmore was arrested Friday night for disorderly conduct, domestic violence and assault at a residence on Side Street.
31 year old Gerald Miller was arrested Friday night for aggravated DUI.
Officers are investigating a theft at a residence on North Maurel Street; a report of a disturbance at a business on East Monroe; shoplifting at Walmart; and criminal damage at a business on Pine Street.
Yesterday the Gila County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18 year old Shelby Poeling for possession of stolen property and burglary.
37 year old Traci Wright was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
39 year old Cory Steveson was arrested Saturday on a child support warrant.
A deputy took a report of a theft at a residence on Saguaro Drive. Several items were taken from a vehicle including a camera, GPS, binoculars and change. The Sheriff’s Office reminds you to make sure that your car is locked and secured when unattended.
Deputies are also investigating a domestic incident in the area of Main Street; a fight at Sunrise Mobile Home Park; and criminal damage to a fence in Kellner Canyon.

Marcus Lee Teague passed away April 11 at his home in Globe. He was 60. He is survived by his son Chris and his mother Mary Lou Teague.
