Edgar Cruz Community Concert on Monday
The first Community Concert of the season will feature guitarist Edgar Cruz. The performance begins Monday at 7:pm in the Miami High School Auditorium. Cruz's music ranges from classical to jazz to pop. His YouTube performance of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” has been viewed nearly 14 million times.

Miami Council Considers Redflex Traffic Cameras at Monday's Meeting
Miami Town Council meets Monday at 6:30pm. There will be a Public Hearing on the possible approval of Redflex traffic cameras in Miami.
The Council will go into Executive Session for performance evaluations of Town Manager Jerry Barnes and Town Clerk Richard Canizales.

Globe Council Meets Monday
Globe City Council meets Monday at 6:pm. They’ll consider Intergovernmental Agreements with the State of Arizona relating to bridge inspections and the restoration of the historic train depot.
Traffic Change on South High Street Beginning November 1
The City of Globe announces an upcoming traffic change to the 400 block of South High Street in Globe. This is the street in front of Globe High School and the Globe Schools District Office.
The 400 block of South High Street will become a one way street beginning Monday, November 1. Traffic will flow from Ash Street north to Maple Street. This change is being made to prepare for the pedestrian crosswalk signal that will be installed later this year at the Ash and High Street intersection.
There will be concentrated police patrols in this area to enforce the change and to ensure a smooth transition.

Several Globe Downtown Streets Closed Next Week
The City of Globe Street Department is closing several downtown streets next week during the repainting of crosswalks. The streets will be closed between 6:30 and 11:am Monday through Thursday.
Landfill Fees for Appliances Waived Tomorrow
The Russelll Gulch Landfill is coordinating an old appliance “fee free” day tomorrow (Saturday) from 8:am to 3:pm. The landfill fee for the weight of all appliances and the freon from the refrigerators and freezers will be waived tomorrow.
This includes refrigerators, freezers, washers, dish washers, dryers, portable trash compactors and water heaters. Other metal items will also be accepted.

Mesa Police arrested 27 year old Daniel Kubacki of Globe yesterday on warrants for child support and failure to appear on charges of possesion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A Gila County Sheriff’s deputy took a report of contraband in the Gila County Jail.
Globe Police are investigating criminal damage at a residemce on Bancroft.

Globe Moose Lodge Rummage Sale
The Globe Moose Lodge Rummage Sale takes place Saturday from 8:am until 1:pm at the Lodge on Highway 60 in Claypool. Proceeds will be used to prepare for the annual benefit Christmas party.
Walk and Wag Against Abuse
The Gila County Domestic Violence Safe Home and the High Desert Humane Society have joined together to raise funds for the fight against abuse in Globe-Miami. The 1st Annual Walk and Wag Against Abuse takes place Saturday in downtown Globe.
The event will help show the link between domestic violence and animal abuse. Cruelty to animals is often an indicator and predictor of family and community violence. And an alarming number of women report that threats to their animal companions prevent them from leaving abusive relationships. Funds raised from this event will be used to help families and animals that are in abusive situations.
Registration begins at 2:30pm Saturday at the historic train depot. The Walk and Wag starts at 3:00. The fee is $10. Family and friends are encouraged to sponsor you and your pet for the walk.
Other activities include a K9 demonstration, a 50/50 drawing and refreshments.

Haunted House Saturday Night
The Globe Library will have a Halloween Haunted House Saturday at 6:pm. The cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children.
Medicare Open Enrollment Info Friday at Globe Active Adult Center
A Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens representative will be at Globe Active Adult Center on Friday at 10:am to help with Medicare Open Enrollment. You’ll be able to compare what different programs offer and find out which plan is best for you.
Globe Community Center Closed Saturday 6:am to 2:pm
The Globe Community Center will be closed to the public on Saturday from 6:am until 2:pm for a Focus Cycle-Cross Race. The event is open to the public and spectators are welcome.
Access to Hagen Road will be restricted from Oil Circle Road. People needing access to these areas will need to use Ice House Canyon Road as an alternate.

Make Christmas Assistance Appointments November 1-4
The Salvation Army will begin setting appointments for Christmas assistance on Tuesday, November 1. Appointments may be made by calling 425-4011 from November 1-4. Only 250 applications will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
The Salvation Army is also looking for families, church groups, service clubs and businesses to sign up for the Adopt-a-Family Program. If you’re interested, call 425-4011.
