Police Log

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted abduction that occurred Wednesday evening in the area of Pineway. Two children described a small turquoise truck with a white stripe, tinted windows, and a black pipe rack by the back window. The children said the driver was a man with short hair who drove beside them while they were walking home and attempted to grab them. The case is pending furher investigation.

There was a two vehicle injury accident yesterday evening at Mesquite and Sutherland Streets.

There was a minor two vehicle accident yesterday evening at Ash and Third Streets.

Nobody was hurt in an accident yesterday morning on Jesse Hayes Road and Ruiz Canyon. One driver was cited for unsafe backing.

A motorcycle accident occurred about 8:00 last night on Highway 60 at MP 246.5.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested 45 year old Bennie Mason on warrants for criminal trespass and child support.

57 year old Michael Harder was arrested on a child support warrant.

A 9 year old child was bitten by a dog at large yesterday evening in the area of Maple Leaf. The dog was turned over to animal control and the case is under investigation.

A Gila County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer took a report of an assault that occurred Wednesday at Miami Jr. High School. A 12 year old girl assaulted another 12 year old girl.

Another report was taken for an assault that occurred last Friday at the Miami High School football field. The victim from the Phoenix area was assaulted by two 12 year old girls.

Globe Police arrested 29 year old Jeffrey Harris for aggravated DUI at a traffic stop early this morning at Ash and Fourth Street.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted break-in in the Miami Gardens area and a burglary at another residence in Miami Gardens.
