AEN Says All Three LD5 Legislators Vote Against Education Funding '100% of the Time'

The Arizona Education Network has identified 59 of Arizona’s 90 state legislators who they say have voted against public education funding 100% of the time in 2011. The list includes all three legislators from Arizona’s District 5: Sen. Sylvia Allen, Rep. Brenda Barton and Representative Chester Crandell.

AEN says the legislators are not telling the truth when they say that they had no other choice but to cut $454 million from schools, community colleges and universities. For one thing, they say Governor Brewer’s original budget had $116 million less in budget cuts.

The group says legislators could work to close $10 billion in tax loopholes to raise more revenue.

  1. What AEN means is that legislators could raise $10 billion in increased taxes to raise more revenues. Most of these "loopholes" as AEN likes to call them, if "closed" would increase the working family's cost of living by 8% annually. All so education administrators could have more money? When are teachers going to wake up and realize that the administration and union are jerking your chain? They get the money, you don't.
